Degree programs in health care systems

Optimizing health care for everyone

Access to health care is a matter of life and death. It also greatly influences a person’s quality of life. Our undergraduate and graduate degrees in health care systems prepare students to lead fundamental change and improve health care so that everyone has access to the care they need to live a high-quality and productive life.

The science of health care administration and policy is the study and design of health care systems, processes, leadership and management. Our degree programs and connected research opportunities provide students with a foundational knowledge of health care administration and health policy grounded in concepts of leadership, social determinants of health, informatics, systems engineering and economics.

Plus, our Doctor of Behavioral Health program teaches health care operations, financial management, strategic planning and more, preparing students to manage behavioral health programs. For students preparing for a clinical career, a master’s degree in science of health care administration and policy can enhance their medical school application as they learn about care delivery systems, management approaches and more.

Opportunities for health care administration and policy graduates may include positions in hospital systems, physician practices and clinics, patient navigation, the pharmaceutical industry, insurance companies, government and regulatory agencies, and health research organizations. Many continue their education in graduate programs in health care systems, administration or management.
